Realistic mirage: skiing in Dubai

Now came the time to go on and find out the secret of snowing in Dubai. You’ll probably think I’ve gone crazy! No dude, I am not mad but yes it’s hard to believe that Dubai actually has a place called Ski Dubai inside the world’s largest shopping malls. Dubai’s Mall of Emirates has a unique appeal named Ski Dubai, an indoor downhill ski area.

I reached the biggest mall, Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates. The mall in fact is truly huge and vast with a whopping 520 international brands and 85 coffee shops and restaurants! But it’s time that I leave behind shopping and go onto explore another wonder in Dubai. So I decided to purchase an entry ticket into Ski Dubai an architectural marvel built for skiing.

As soon as I purchased a ticket, they provided me with body suits and shoes. The wonderful journey to winter land in Dubai begins here. I went crazy and felt it hard to believe when I saw the chilling ice. I pinched myself literally, because I actually thought that I was dreaming. The snow is artificial, but it really felt cold and it also looked bit icy. It was pretty hot outside and now it was a situation where I felt cold even when I was totally geared up. I was bit disappointed to know that Ski Dubai charges extra for hand gloves.

Now the time arrived when I had to keep aside my architectural skills and learn snowboarding tips. I was much tensed as this was my first time. But my nervousness was eased by the trained professionals made available by Ski Dubai. My first lesson on snowboarding was taught by a beautiful lady with a magical voice. But hey, I got a girlfriend back home and she’s cuter! I skied down for the first time and must tell you I was pretty good.

I saw many local families enjoying the very popular Ski Dubai. It was very joyful scene watching kids wearing hand gloves and ski pants throwing snowballs on each other. The temperature inside was freezing -1 and -2 Celsius.  For the people not into adventure, Ski Dubai has a Snow Park where you can have a blast with your family or friends.

This is not like any other small family feeder, rather is one of the world’s largest and best snow parks. Finding ice in Dubai was the best part of my journey. The outer structure of Ski Dubai is like an airplane which will fly any moment.  Be it winter or summer Ski Dubai is abuzz for everyone. Ski Dubai is a different world inside the world of Dubai.
