Sometimes, I also like to visit museums which houses and takes care of the scientific, cultural, historic, or artistic importance. I asked many people about the museums to visit in the San Diego. They suggested many names like Mingei International Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, Timken Museum of Art and USS Midway Museum.

As I am always very eager to know about the sea, I decided to visit USS Midway (Museum) because it is said that “If you want to experience a life at sea on the port, you must visit to The USS Midway Museum”.

The USS Midway Museum, newest visitor attraction, is a real naval aircraft carrier which served in US Navy for forty seven years. I was so excited when I saw the impressive and large carrier with real airplanes and real jets on the deck that visitors can walk into as well as sit into the cockpits of some airplanes. Just imagine, how exciting sitting in the cockpit of the planes is, which we only see flying in the sky. I didn’t want to miss this chance at any cost; so, I quickly went to the in charge and asked him to place me in the cockpit of the plane. Sitting in the cockpit, I was feeling like a pilot, ready to blow off enemies. But, it was just for a short time.

Anyway, I moved forward to the audio tour offered by them for free. The tour took the visitors through the laundry rooms and kitchens and all around the ship. I heard the real stories from people who actually worked on the board. The stories narrated by these people were very interesting and heart-warming. I always thought that Midway is so huge, but when I heard about those men living abroad for months, I realized how small it is.

It only took 3 hours for me to see the exhibits on the deck. I would like to give you a helpful tip: If you are thinking to visit the museum, it’s better to visit the Captain's bridge first, because it gets very busy and you have to stand in a long queue.

At the end of the day, I was very glad that I visited the museum and can never forget those 3 hours spent on the deck of the museum!
